OH GOOD GOSH...

Keep of Kalessin recently released a new album. It's like sex in your ears! (Without the vivid imagery... You pervert!)

I'm still waiting for all our resident metalheads to crawl out the woodworks.

And here's some 80s metal classics (which happen to be horror soundtracks)

Try as I might to locate a Death/Thrash metal band I can take a liking to, perhaps the genre itself irks me. It's to do with the eccentric, rapid pace of the instruments and repetition in melody, I find theirs very little beat or rhythm to be derived from the adrenaline pumping, head banging orchestra of raging screams and simplistic tune? Quite a naive interpretation perhaps.

This piece of 'Progressive Metal' appeals to me, a unique fusion of classical and modern instruments combined with a despairing theme and diversity in beats.

Oldschool video game music derived from the 16 bit SNES, attuned to focus on atmosphere ranging from soothing melodies to fast paced tunes.

The Age of Exploration

Signs of the Past

Larai Cliffs

Will's Dream

Adrift

Sky Garden

The Great Wall of China

A very atmopsheric track, akin to the dark ambience found in Doom 64/PSX Doom soundtracks.

Interesting. I haven't heard the complete soundtrack for that one, but it seems there could potentially be two great soundtracks for that game variants. The original PC soundtrack is pretty much as great as dark ambient can get. I've often listened it with mp3 player and travelled to quite weird emotional landscapes.
